Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is expected to be back in time for Napoli’s game against Liverpool in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday.
Napoli sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli says concerns over the striker’s injury he suffered in the club’s 2-1 away win against Lazio on Saturday will not stop him. Osimhen did not take part in Monday’s training session but worked on his own as Napoli prepare for their opener against Liverpool. But Napoli took action to quell the doubts of the fans, who feared that Osimhen would be seriously injured.
Speaking in an interview with Kiss Kiss Napoli, Giuntoli said: “He (Oshimen) had a bit of discomfort in his adjuvant, there’s no injury, it’s fatigue. It was tiring, so he had to meet the doctor and he decided for a few hours to play with Liverpool, take the risk or not. “, assured the Neapolitan leader.
Osimhen has scored 14 goals which has helped Napoli qualify for the Champions League this season as the Napoli side finished third in Serie A last term.
