For once, the next concert at the arts school will take place on a Sunday, September 11 at 5 p.m. A voice, that of Yvan Cujious and the six strings of Louis Winsberg, an exceptional guitarist, in homage to Claude Nougaro, of whom we can say that Yvan Gujious is the spiritual son. Yvan Cujious, vocals and trumpet, was artistic director of many concert events around the great Toulouse artist during his lifetime and after his death. Louis Winsberg, renowned jazz guitarist who, in addition to having founded the famous group Sixun, was Dee Dee Bridgwater’s referent guitarist. He collaborated with international jazzmen such as Mike Stern or Eddie Gomez, was arranger and musician of Maurane, and accompanied Claude Nougaro.
Louis Winsberg and Yvan Cujious met on the Place du Capitole, during the first tribute concert that Yvan had conducted for the Claude Nougaro association. He had then chosen to sing the delicate “A bout de souffle”, a piece in five beats. Already, the guitarist of the band that accompanied him was called… Louis Winsberg.
