The new iPhone 14s were presented last week, but have not yet revealed all their secrets. Today, a source reveals the capacities of the different batteries of the iPhone 14. The perfect opportunity to compare them with those of the iPhone 13.
Every year, Apple unveils its new iPhones without ever giving the capacity of each battery. The brand prefers to share indications on autonomy in video playback, streaming and audio. A reliable source today reveals the battery capacities of the new iPhone 14, Plus, Pro and Pro Max.
The batteries of the iPhone 14 compared to those of the iPhone 13
Apple is not very fond of figures when they do not highlight the prowess of its products. This is exactly the case with the battery capacities of iPhones, which are generally not impressive when compared to those of their Android competitors. But Apple’s strength lies in optimization, because as the adage goes: ” Without mastering the power is nothing “.
For a better point of comparison, here are the battery capacities of each of the iPhone 13:
- iPhone 13 mini: 2406 mAh
- iPhone 13: 3,227mAh
- iPhone 13 Pro: 3,095mAh
- iPhone 13 Pro Max: 4,352mAh
The iPhone 14 battery information comes from a Chinese regulatory database. It is this same source, relayed by the Twitter user ShrimpAppleProwhich previously revealed similar information about the iPhone 13s as well as the MacBook Pro 14 and 16 inches before these deniers are properly dismantled. Here’s what to expect for this year:
- iPhone 14: 3,279mAh
- iPhone 14 Plus: 4,325mAh
- iPhone 14 Pro: 3,200mAh
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 4,323mAh
What autonomy to expect on the iPhone 14?
As you can see, the iPhone 14 and 14 Pro have more battery capacity than last year’s models. Only the iPhone 14 Pro Max offers a slightly smaller battery than its predecessor. The iPhone 14 Plus being a new modelit logically has no point of comparison.
This Plus version is also presented as having record autonomy on the iPhone. This could be explained by its larger battery and the absence of certain features reserved for the Pro versions. But let’s not forget that the high-end iPhone models benefit from an LTPO screen capable of lowering its refresh rate to preserve their batteries.
This is verified on the Apple site where the brand specifies that its iPhone 14 Pro Max is capable of 29 hours of video playback endurance, compared to 26 hours for the iPhone 14 Plus. Same observation in video streaming where the Pro Max version displays 25 hours of autonomy against 20 hours for the Plus version.
As always, only a teardown of the phones will be able to confirm these different battery capacities. For autonomy in real conditions, go very soon to 01net to discover our complete tests of the new iPhone 14.
