Special Event: AirPods Pro 2, but no mixed reality headset?

Mark Gurman, in his newsletter weekly, takes stock of what awaits us — or not — during the special event next Wednesday. The good news is that the second generation of the AirPods Pro should be announced.

Expected for ages, this new version should integrate an H2 chip, improved audio quality, better autonomy, activity monitoring functions, a compatible case Locate, Bluetooth LE Audio support

On the other hand, those who were expecting news from the mixed reality headset next week will be left to wait a little longer. This product, in the pipes for years, will not be entitled to any mention according to Gurman who ensures that the launch is scheduled for 2023. Ming-Chi Kuo also predicted a event dedicated for next January.

The snoop of Bloomberg comes back to the trademarks registered by Apple which would stick quite well to a mixed reality headset: “Reality One” and “Reality Pro”. In fact, the manufacturer would have chosen to baptize this product “Apple Reality Something “.

The very first generation could be “Apple Reality Pro” (codename N301) since it will be a very high-end and very expensive device like Apple’s other Pro products. While ‘Apple Reality One’ would be well suited to a more affordable model (N602) – however, that name might as well stick to a first model. It is therefore still the great vagueness that reigns around this future range…

Another trademark was registered by Apple in the wake of the “Reality Pro/One”: “Optica”. It could have a link with the system of interchangeable optics for users who need corrective lenses. It would also go quite well with future connected glasses that Apple has been working on for some time and which are codenamed N421.
