Raul Martin Presa, president of Rayo Vallecano claimed to have been hit by the player’s agent, in the middle of negotiations for his transfer.
Rayo have entered into negotiations with Ivan Garcia, Raul De Tomas’ agent, over a move for the Espanyol striker during the summer transfer window.
The president of the club, Presa, claimed to have been assaulted and hospitalized during this meeting. The Rayo has since released a statement confirming that Presa has filed a formal complaint against Garcia.
“It was a completely unexpected whim,” Presa told COPE as he appeared with a bandage over his nose. “It was a criminal’s action, a very cowardly action and a very shitty action. Because if he gives me a warning, then we fight.”
De Tomas was heavily linked with an Espanyol exit during the transfer window, and Manchester United were reportedly even interested in the former Real Madrid player. However, the transfer didn’t materialize before the window closed and De Tomas remains at Espanyol for the time being.
It remains to be seen if Garcia is charged by the police following Presa’s accusations. For De Tomas, meanwhile, a January move isn’t out of the question as Rayo continue to be linked with him. Hopefully negotiations will be easier next time!
