Moroccan coaches must support Regragui, who is capable of meeting the challenge, even if the mission will not be easy, he stressed, adding that the choice of a 100% Moroccan staff will be an asset for the Lions. of the Atlas during the World Cup-2022 and the African Cup.

For his part, Abdelghani Othmani said the change is timely given the problems the national team was experiencing, praising Regragui’s professionalism and skill.

For him, the designation of Regragui is a recognition of the place occupied by the national framework and its efforts to upgrade Moroccan football.

Regragui has signed up with the national team until 2026, a period which will be marked by the organization of another continental event, namely the African Cup of Nations (CAN) in 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire. .

Regragui, who has just won the Botola Pro D1 and the African Champions League with Wydad Casablanca, will be assisted by former Moroccan internationals Rachid Benmahmoud and Gharib Amzine. The technical staff also includes goalkeeping coach Omar Harrak.
