On an international tour, the Trophy stops in Dakar

Dakar – The Qatar 2022 World Cup Trophy arrived in Dakar on Tuesday. He was transported aboard a plane bearing the image of Coca Cola, the major sponsor of this competition.

The aircraft came from Ghana, a globalist country, where it had also stopped. Among those who traveled with the trophy is David Treizeguet, world champion with France in 1998. The former striker, who is one of the legends of Fifa, welcomed the fervor of the committee of supporters of the “12th Gaïndé” and “Allez Casa”. The two committees of supporters of the national teams of Senegal, who came in large numbers, ensured the atmosphere on the tarmac of the presidential pavilion of the Blaise Diagne AIBD international airport in Dakar.

At the reception, there were also several Senegalese authorities including Augustin Senghor, President of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) and the Minister of Sports, Matar Ba. The latter was also delighted to receive the World Cup Trophy for the second time after 2018.

Matar Ba believes that “it is an important, even historic event which consecrates Senegal’s third participation in a World Cup. It comes a few months after the coronation of Senegal at the Cameroon CAN”, he recalled.

Senegalese fans were able to contemplate the World Cup Trophy again, four years after its last stay in the Senegalese capital. It was exhibited this Wednesday, September 07 in the afternoon at the National Grand Theater in Dakar. But first, the coveted trophy will be received at the end of the morning by the President of the Republic.

To prepare for the next World Cup, Senegal will play two friendly matches. It will first be against Bolivia on September 24 in Orleans, France. Sadio Mané’s teammates will then face Iran in a friendly match.
