Olympique de Marseille organized a press conference on Monday to introduce the media to Eric Bailly, Issa Kaboré and Amine Harit. Pablo Longoria was part of his new recruits.
The Marseille president did not escape a question about the Champions League which will start on Wednesday for OM with a perilous first trip to Tottenham’s lawn. “The objective all seasons in Ligue 1 is to qualify for the Champions League. The second objective is to be up to it in this Champions League. For us, the competition is game after game. You have to do well at home. Of course we have ambitions and we expect to be very competitive”assured Longoria.
Bailly-Longoria, a respective favourite!
The Olympian leader then returned to his choice to bring in Ivorian defender Eric Baillyon loan with an option to buy from Manchester United. “In all transfers there is a story, and here it is a story with a lot of values. I really liked his determination from our first conversation. It was considered the ideal profile for the club. Experienced player, international…”he explained just after the speech of the principal concerned. “The president got me stuff that I didn’t expect. From his first call, he gave me information that I did not expect”said Bailly.
Back at OM after a first loan from Schalke 04 last season, Amine Harit is fully focused on this new career opportunity. “There is an option to buy. But like I said last season, it’s not something I focus on. I work on instinct, I need to play without asking myself any questions. It will be up to me to do my performances”, explained the Moroccan international. Sentiment shared by Issa Kaboté, the side loaned by the Citizens. “The idea is to play and stay in Marseille, not return to City. It’s a very big club, it will bring me a lot for my next steps”he assured.
