The kick-off of the 6th edition of the International Moulay El Hassan para-athletics meeting was given Thursday at the Grand Stade in Marrakech, with the participation of around 400 athletes representing 40 African, Asian, European and American countries, and the management of more than 105 referees.
The opening of this sporting competition of international scope was enhanced by the presence of the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family, Mrs. Aouatif Hayar, the wali of the Marrakech-Safi region, governor of the prefecture of Marrakech, Mr. Karim Kassi-Lahlou, the president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Sports for Persons with Disabilities (FRMSPH), Mr. HamidElAouni, the director of the Regional Academy of Education and Training (AREF) of Marrakech-Safi, Mr. Ahmed Karimi, local elected officials, as well as other personalities.
In a statement to M24, MAP’s continuous news television channel, the president of the FRMSPH, Hamid El Aouni, stressed that this edition is enhanced by the participation of 30 Paralympic champions and world champions, which denotes the importance of this sporting event in the calendar of the World Para Athletics.
The results of the Moroccan champions in this meeting are very satisfactory so far, he added, noting the ambition of the national team to occupy the first position in terms of medals during this major sporting event. international.
