Former United midfielder Roy Keane pointed the finger at Mikel Arteta after the game which saw the Red Devils dominate the Gunners.
Roy Keane has branded Mikel Arteta a ‘bad loser’ after the Arsenal manager lamented his side’s failure to defeat Manchester United on Sunday.
Arteta was left frustrated by his side’s inability to beat Manchester United at Old Trafford as the Red Devils won 3-1. After the match, the Gunners manager revealed he thought victory was “within reach”.
“Arteta must salute the merit of MU”
“I’m sick of all their Arsenal excuses, I’m serious. Arteta is interviewed after, listen, he’s a sore loser like all of us,” Keane said on Sky Sports. “But he has to give Manchester United some credit and he never does. You shouldn’t make excuses. He lost the game 3-1”.
Arsenal saw an early goal from Gabriel Martinelli disallowed for a light foul after a VAR appeal. A decision that Martin Odegaard criticized at the end of the match. Shortly after that turn, Antony put United ahead, before Bukayo Saka equalized on the hour mark. A brace from Marcus Rashford then earned the hosts all three points.
The two sides will both start their Europa League group stage campaigns on Thursday, with United hosting Real Sociedad and the Gunners traveling to FC Zurich.
