Cases for the iPad 10 are already on sale! The website Macotakara spotted an ESR-designed model sold on Amazon Japan. The rendering used seems to be that of an iPad Air and therefore there is a good chance that it cannot be trusted. On the other hand, this shell is indeed intended for an iPad model with flat and not curved edges like the iPad 9 today, with a slot for wireless charging of the Apple Pencil on the edge. The camera slot is also much larger than on the current model.
In recent months, there have indeed been hallway noises announcing a design change important for the iPad 10 this fall with flat edges allowing the support of the Apple Pencil 2, the integration of a USB-C connector in place of the Lightning, the disappearance of the jack socket and the implementation place of a protruding camera in the back. As for the screen, however, it was always a question of a rectangular slab with the traditional home button for Touch ID. From a technical point of view, the entry-level iPad could switch from the A13 chip to the A14 chip and the cellular models could adopt 5G.
Rumors initially predicted a September launch, but that didn’t turn out to be the case. Could Apple unveil the iPad 10 alongside the iPad Pro M2 in the next weeks ? Still a bit of suspense…
