The composition of the groups for the final phase of the Beach Soccer 2022 CAN is known. The draw has just been made, this Friday, September 16, 2022, in Maputo, Mozambique.
The eight qualified teams are divided into two groups of four. Host country of the competition, Mozambique inherits a group A with opponents not the least. These are Malawi, which is in its first participation, but above all Nigeria, bronze medalist in 2015, finalist in 2016 and 2018 but absent from the 2021 edition, then Morocco, bronze medalist in 2021 and who is in its fifth consecutive final phase.
Group B is undoubtedly the most challenging of this CAN Beach Soccer 2022. We find there especially Senegal, triple defending champion. The Teranga Lions are accompanied by Uganda, semi-finalist in 2021, Madagascar, winner in 2015, then Egypt, bronze medalist in 2016 and 2018.
This edition, which will take place between October 21 and 28, 2022, is the fifth in history. It will take place in the beautiful city of Vilankulo in Mozambique. The Seychelles hosted the first edition in 2015. The second edition was held in 2016 in Nigeria while Egypt hosted the third edition in 2018. As for the fourth and final edition, it took place in Senegal in 2021.
Senegal is also the most successful in the Beach Soccer CAN. The Teranga Lions have won the last three editions (2016, 2018 and 2021).
