CAF establishes rules for the final of its 2022-2023 interclub competitions

An official source within the Confederation of African Football revealed to africafootunited.com that the CAF Competitions Commission has transmitted the regulations for the final match of the 2022-2023 interclub competitions (The Champions League and the Confederation Cup). which will be played in two home and away matches.

The CAF source indicated that the Competitions Commission notified all member national federations before the start of the 2022-2023 interclub competitions on September 9, the implementation of the decision relating to the modification of article 28. of the regulation.

The same source gave some details related to Article 28 of Chapter Three of the Competition System Regulations which has been amended as follows: “The final match will be played in two matches, home and away. If the number of goals scored at home and away is equal, the winner will be determined by penalty kicks in accordance with the laws of the game”.

Finally, the CAF source, who asked not to be named, said that CAF have not changed their rules regarding the away goal which counts double, unlike UEFA who have changed this rules this season.
