Aubameyang (Chelsea) will wear a mask against Dinamo Zagreb

Pierre-Emerick Auba took part in Chelsea training last Monday evening. He is fit to play minutes tonight against Dinamo but will have to wear a mask because of his jaw injury suffered during the robbery he suffered recently.

Arrived last Friday, the Gabonese Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang could play his first minutes with the Chelsea Blues this Tuesday against Dinamo Zagreb. Nevertheless the player will appear on the field with a black full face mask, manufactured by a specialized company in Milan last weekend. As a reminder, Auba suffered a jaw injury after a burglary he suffered last week.

”He did a test with the mask, trained normally and so if all goes well he will be available”says Thomas Tuchel, his trainer.

However the German does not want the media to put pressure on his striker. “Don’t put ideas in Auba’s head (about being a masked superhero), or any other ideas. I’m pretty sure he has his. If he scores, he can celebrate. First of all he must score”. On the question of Auba’s availability, Tuchel is confident but wants to remain cautious. ”If there is a problem today, we will not put it. There were no problems today. Is he ready to play begin? Sure, but he can’t play 90 minutes. We will have to manage the minutes”.

Note that the player will wear this mask for several weeks until the pain disappears definitively.
