Pressure from Arab countries, and in particular the Gulf monarchies, on Algeria to make concessions with a view to Morocco’s participation in the next Arab League Summit (November 1, 2022) continues. As proof, Algeria did not invite the Polisario to take part in a forum devoted to examining the missions of civil society in the Arab region. On the list of participants, released by the APS, the “Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR)” does not appear.
The event, organized under the aegis of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was inaugurated on Sunday September 11, 2022 in Oran. This concession is not the first. At the September 6 session of the Executive Council of the Arab League, Algiers was not opposed when the Arab Ministerial Committee in charge of action to put an end to Israeli measures in occupied Al-Quds praised the constant efforts undertaken by King Mohammed VI in the defense of the holy city of Al-Quds. Algiers even accepted the condemnation of Iran’s armed support to the Polisario militias. Two points which should appear on the Declaration of Algiers sanctioning the next summit.
