African Pastry Cup: Morocco at the top of the podium

Moroccan cuisine still stands out on an African scale. Morocco won, on Saturday September 10, 2022 in Dakhla, the fifth African Pastry Cup, organized as part of the official TOC Africa chefs tournament.

Thus, the Moroccan team won this prize after ten hours of competition, followed by Mauritius and Tunisia, which respectively reached the second and the third step of the podium.

The three winning teams won their tickets to the pastry world cup which will take place next January in Lyon (France), at the Salon de l’hôtellerie et de la restauration (Sirha). The jury also awarded a special prize to the Ghana team for the best team spirit.

This competition is marked by the participation of great African pastry chefs from eight countries, including Egypt, Ghana, Burkina-Faso, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire. It brought together the best cooks on the African scale, who distinguished themselves by their work techniques and the enhancement of tastes in the creation and realization of their dishes.

Initiated by Rahal Event, the TOC Africa brings together more than 200 renowned chefs in cooking and pastry. The Pastry World Cup is the benchmark event for pastry art in the world, both unifying the profession and revealing talents and trends.

Culinary demonstrations, testimonials and workshops on the culinary riches of the region are on the program, in addition to the participation of trainees from hotel schools in the region under the Office of Vocational Training and Labor Promotion (OFPPT ).
